BL parking sparks row
A classic car event secretary has criticised some attendees for their attitude following newly imposed parking restrictions by site owners.
Several visitors to the BMC/ BL rally at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire on 7 August were not happy about new rules.
To get free parking, classic owners had to key their registration number and a validation code into a machine in the main car parks before leaving the venue, or face a £50 fine. A camera-operated number plate registration system was designed to make sure there were no exceptions.
Event secretary Sara Nye says: ‘We had some cases of people taking it out on us. We have had to comply with these new regulations from the site owners – we have had no option.’
