Clas­sic car restora­tion busi­ness A and F Clas­sics struck by in­ferno caus­ing £3m of dam­age to stock and build­ings

M ore than £3 mil­lion worth of clas­sic cars have been de­stroyed in a ram­pant fire that have left a fam­ily home­less. Alex and Faye Morse es­caped the blaze with their three chil­dren af­ter son Bono, aged 14, alerted them to the fire. The Nor­folk-based busi­ness lost at least £3m worth of ve­hi­cles in the fire, which they be­lieve was caused by a faulty elec­tri­cal me­ter. ‘ We lost the build­ings, the cars, the tools, the home we lived in, every­thing,’ says Alex, owner of restora­tion firm A and F Clas­sics. ‘ We had Pan­hard Levas­sors, a Rolls-Royce Phan­tom I, Rolls-Royce Twenty, Maserati 3500 GT, Maserati Indy, two 1959 Mercedes 190SLs, even a 1935 Arm­strong Sid­de­ley Sap­phire that be­longed to Harold Macmil­lan.’
