Longbridge assembly ends

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

MG has announced that it has ceased final assembly of its cars in the UK. The admission that the MG3 and new MG GS now come into the UK fully finished from China was down to ‘cost-cutting’. There had been sporadic production at the historic factory since MG Rover’s descent into administration in 2005, but no promised return to mass-manufacture from a factory once capable of building more than 200,000 vehicles a year.
