386-miles Suzuki LJ

A timewarp condition 1981 Suzuki LJ80 with just 386 miles on its rectangular speedometer will be available to buy at auction. Anglia Car Auctions will offer the mini off-roader at its 5 November sale in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

Recommissioned in June this year, following 28 years in storage, the vendor says it was used as a demo car for journalists. It also featured in Rhino magazine – a publication for Suzuki 4x4 owners. ACA boss Rob George says: ‘ The car is fantastic and is one for a museum or a collector. You’ve got to see it to believe it.’

It comes with an MoT valid to August 2017, should the new owner wish to put some proper mileage on it.

Suzuki UK has a small press fleet, but is ruling out buying this car. Alun Parry, head of press and public relations for the manufacturer, says: ‘We are aware of this fantastic car – we spotted it recently. We will watch the auction result with great interest. If we had enough storage space we would certainly be bidding!’
