One-off woody

A unique 1946 Daim­ler DB18 ‘woody’ is be­ing of­fered at auc­tion next month.

Fit­ted with a 2.5-litre straight six en­gine, this Daim­ler’s body is un­der­stood to be a one-off work by Lon­don-based pres­tige coach­builders Barker & Co.

Es­ti­mated at £15,000-18,000, the shoot­ing brake has re­cently had the ash frame re­placed. It will ap­pear in the Char­ter­house auc­tion on Sun­day, 6 Novem­ber at the Foot­man James Bris­tol Clas­sic Restora­tion Show, at Shep­ton Mal­let, Som­er­set.

Also in the sale from the same ven­dor is a 1972 Rover P5B coupe that was driven by Richard Ham­mond in an episode of Top Gear (£15,000-18,000). www.char­ter­house-auc­tion.com
