Vauxhall gains extra show space at NEC
After previously complaining it was under-represented at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, Vauxhall will host its largest ever display at the 1113 November event in Birmingham.
In 2014 the company grumbled that not enough Vauxhall-related clubs were allowed and that it needed more space.
It looks like it’s got its wishes. Vauxhall will have a 10-vehicle stand celebrating its export history. More marque owners’ clubs will join the manufacturer to create an impressive ‘Vauxhall Zone’ too.
Joining Vauxhall at the NEC will be 13 Vauxhall owners’ clubs, including the Droopsnoot Owners’ Club, the Cavalier & Chevette Owners’ Club, Vauxhall Viva Owners’ Club and Vauxhall Cresta Owners’ Club in Hall 5. Dave Childs, Droop Snoot Group publicity rep says: ‘We’ve got three Magnum sports hatches this year – including the “Silver Bullet”. It should be an absolutely excellent show.’
Two anniversaries will be celebrated – 50 years of the Viva HB and 85 years since the birth of Bedford. Centrepiece of the HB display will be the 1970 MkI½ GT, making its debut after a two-year restoration by Vauxhall’s Heritage Centre.
