More than 71,000 classic fans made it to the NEC, Birmingham for this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, making it the biggest turnout in the event’s 32-year history.

The three-day extravaganza included manufacturer-backed Porsche and Vauxhall displays, a 20-car Pride of Ownership contest and a two-day auction. Showgoers could also drive rally-prepared classics themselves at a new outdoor demonstration area, organised by the Historic Endurance Rallying Organisation.

Event organiser Dan Nwaokolo says: ‘The clubs continue to astound us with their valued dedication to creating the best displays year after year and we have early reports of excellent sales from traders and dealers who took part in this year’s event too.’
