Biggest NEC auc­tion ever

A show-stan­dard 1957 Porsche Speed­ster sold for £306,563 at Sil­ver­stone Auc­tions’ Classic Motor Show sale. The to­tal topped £5.76m, with 80% of en­tries chang­ing hands, en­sur­ing this event be­came the biggest the auc­tion­eer has ever held at the NEC.

Among note­wor­thy per­form­ers was a For the Love of Cars re­stored 1969 As­ton Martin DBS. It made way over guide at £174,375 – a world record. And a 1974 Jaguar E-type V12 Road­ster sold for £69,750 – £30,000 more than its es­ti­mate.
