A business network set up by CCW contributor Fuzz Townshend is claiming to have the solution to classic garages’ under-insurance worries.

Classic Friendly has launched a new comprehensive business insurance scheme for its member garages, claimed to provide much enhanced essential cover over existing traditional policies.

Some insurers have issued clear warnings that some classic garages and workshops may be underinsured – leading to owners losing money on damaged cars and mechanics risking their own careers and livelihoods.

Underwritten by insurance company, LV= and developed by business broker, Ernest R Shaw, the Classic Friendly cover offered typically exceeds that currently experienced by many garages.

Classic Friendly founder and director, Fuzz Townshend comments: ‘We saw the need to act on under-insurance issues within the industry, to give classic owners greater peace of mind when commissioning work on their cars.

‘We also wanted our network garages to be able to reassure clients that their cars would be fully protected when undergoing work and we’ve been able, in most cases, to establish this enhanced cover at reduced costs to the garages.’
