Unregistered Fiat Coupé on market
Pre-production 16v Turbo – that’s covered 825 miles from new – on offer
An 825-mile pre-production Fiat Coupé 16v Turbo that’s never been registered is for sale in Northern Ireland, priced at £20,000.
Finished in Giallo Ginestra yellow, the right-hand drive twodoor is available from Hollybrook Sportscars in Ulster.
The 1994 Fiat was one of a batch of 15 cars constructed by Pininfarina, this example being used to test right-hand drive market dealer feedback on trim and final details.
The coupé later became part of the Pininfarina collection prior to the firm going out of business in 2012.
The bright yellow car was sold to a private Italian buyer but has more recently been owned by a director of Hollybrook Sportscars.
Import duties on the car have been paid but the Coupé remains unregistered. Fiat has helpfully supplied the Certificate of Conformance and an official letter detailing the chassis number.
‘This is a unique car in superb condition and we’ve had a lot of interest in it,’ says Hollybrook spokesman Matthew Cruickshank.
‘As enthusiasts, when we were offered the chance to sell such an exciting and historically important car we just jumped at the chance. It’s in true timewarp condition and you can believe it has fewer than 1000 miles on the clock. It’s basically a brand new car.’
The Fiat has some detail difference to production UK models, including a different gearlever, door rubbers and carpets. It also has a fitted sunroof. Included is a set of unused mats that were supplied by the factory.
Fiat produced the Coupé in various guises from 1993 to 2000. The body was designed by Chris Bangle.
The £20,000 asking price is four times the regular value, but cars with fewer than 1000 miles from new are few and far between.
