Stirling Moss recovers in Singapore hospital
Sir Stirling Moss is recovering from a serious chest infection, his spokesman has said this week.
The race ace – the first Briton to win his home Grand Prix at Aintree in 1955 – was admitted to a Singapore hospital on 22 December. He was upset about having to miss a holiday cruise over the festive period with friends, but is now planning to spend time with his wife in Singapore while recovering from the illness.
A spokesman says: ‘Because of the severity of the infection, it resulted in some complications and his recovery has not been as speedy as was expected or wished. However, his condition continues to improve and his doctors now consider him to be stable.
‘In himself, he is in good spirits and only upset about having missed his Christmas cruise with friends.’
We wish him a speedy recovery.
