I MODDED MINE

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - LIVING WITH CLASSICS - GARY DUNN

Gary owns a 300E (the van version of the 100E). He says: ‘I’ve fitted a whole range of Aquaplane parts including the cylinder head, exhaust manifold and twin carbs. These have made the car noticeably faster and it means I don’t hold up other traffic. The four-speed gearbox makes the biggest difference though, with its well-spaced ratios. The standard three-speed transmission has a huge gap between second and top. The Aquaplane kit sets off the engine bay but some of it doesn’t just bolt on – modifications are often required to make everything fit, which puts off a few owners.’
