Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - LIVING WITH CLASSICS -

The big Benz has been winning friends and influencing people again. The latest addition to the S280’s long list of fans is John-Joe Vollans, the new editor of our sister magazine Modern Classics, who used it to head to the NEC and back for the Autosport International show. He loved its ability to shrink the long drive across the Midlands, but not its increasingly juddery front brakes. It’s another job to sort on P772 LSR. DS The Puma needed a good clean. Strong winds had blown most of rural Cambridgeshire onto the roads, giving it a nice dirty silver finish that evolved into more of a matt black! Being a small car meant that cleaning it didn’t take long, but I did notice that the nearside door mirror felt slightly loose. The electrics aren’t 100 per cent, either – the radio randomly turns itself off, usually when a good song is playing! JS
