WANTED: CLASSIC CAR ENTHUSIASTS

Get paid to drive classic cars! Classic hire company seeks new staff

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week - David Milloy

A classic car hire company is seeking 10-15 new members of staff to work at its driving experience days and film hire functions.

Redditch-based Great Escape Cars is offering two distinct roles. The first involves delivering cars for filming and remaining on-site to assist the film crew. Applicants will need to hold a trailer and/or Light Goods Vehicle Licence for vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.

The second role involves providing event support for the 80+ road trips and experience days that Great Escape plans to run in 2017. Applicants should have experience in dealing with the public, while experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred, though not essential.

Great Escape Cars’ managing director Graham Eason says: ‘ We’re looking to hire well-presented, conscientious and personable people with a “can do” attitude to work for us between March and October.

‘ We recognise that flexibility is important to many people, so we’re offering a choice of full-time, parttime and zero-hours contracts. And although we work hard, we want our employees to enjoy their jobs – we don’t do the nine-to-five drudge here at Great Escape!’

Ideally, applicants for both roles should hold a DVSA Certificate of Professional Competence, but Great Escape says it will provide the necessary training for successful candidates if required.

All roles are based at Redditch, Worcestershire, but the car delivery role will involve UK-wide travel and overnight stays away from base. The rate of pay for both roles is £8.50 per hour and employees will get regular opportunities to drive a variety of classic cars.
