Female owners up
A new study has revealed that female classic car ownership has risen from eight per cent in 2015 to 9.5 per cent in 2016.
The report, conducted by insurer Footman James, analysed the details of 10,255 women and 55,000 policies, and revealed that the main factor for classic car ownership for 21 per cent of women was nostalgia.
One such enthusiast, Jennifer Negus, says: ‘My definition of a classic car is one with style that doesn’t blend in. I own a 1991 Nissan Figaro, definitely a classic no matter what some say!’
Vintage Sports-Car Club communications manager James Taylor says: ‘Many of our members’ daughters and granddaughters compete in our club events.’
