Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

26 Jan @4pm, Dave Yes, that episode. No, not that one with the Marina, but the first time they made an amphibious Triumph Herald. In this vintage episode (series eight, episode three, Top

Gear buffs) the chaps come up with designs for land and water dwelling cars, build them, and invariably end up completely soaked. Interestingly, James May used the rig of a dinghy and a sail to turn the Herald into quite a natty-looking boat. Richard Hammond created his ‘damper van’ using a Volkswagen T25, and Jeremy Clarkson created a ‘ Toybota’ by mating an enormous outboard boat engine with the rear of a Toyota Hilux. Things were silly, but nevertheless entertaining. James’ Herald even ended up in the Beaulieu National Motor Museum. As a side note, For the Love of Cars presenter Philip Glenister is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car in this episode. Murray Scullion
