THE FALL OF THE WALL

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

The infamous Berlin barrier between East and West, built in 1961, came tumbling down in one the most iconic moments in modern history. Guard towers and the death strip made sure East Berliners did not venture into non-Communist West and could apparently rest secure in the knowledge they were safe from the so-called fascist elements of bourgeois capitalism. Finally, after radical political change throughout the Bloc, permission was granted for East to visit West and the wall crumbled as thousands crossed the border.
