One of only 150 Kyote buggies ever made is for sale. The 1973 Volkswagen-powered Kyote II buggy is among the 100 classic cars being offered in an auction in Ireland this Sunday, 5 February.
The sale is the first event in a joint enterprise between Merlin Car Auctions and carshows.ie and is to be held at Merlin’s Kildare premises.
The Kyote II buggy is a survivor of a limited edition vehicle designed by US buggy specialist Dean Jeffries, as a four-seater that could be used in convertible, pick-up or wagon format. It has 13,000 miles on the clock and a guide price of €10,000. An open top Kyote II appeared in the music video for ZZ Top’s song Legs.
Other cars in the auction include a right-hand drive 1953 MG Midget TD, a 1954 Austin A30, a 1964 Hillman Minx, and a 1967 Mercedes 250 SL.
‘We are delighted to be working together with carshows.ie for this auction amalgamating out auctioneering expertise with their extensive knowledge and experience with classic and vintage cars,’ says Merlin O’Reilly, chief executive of event host Merlin Auction group.
