A large leap in the big top

REVIEW: Lincoln Collective Sale, Golding, Young & Mawer, 18 January

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

Cars are not something you’d often associate with circus entertainment – with the exception of clowns’ collapsing vehicles, of course – but a colourful poster featuring an intriguing Humber-influenced example proved to be a real crowd-puller.

One of a number of circus posters in Golding, Young & Mawer’s Lincoln Collective Sale on 18 January, at a hammer price of £200 it was one of the best-selling single offerings in the nostalgic selection of circus and fairground memorabilia.

If any CCW reader was lucky enough to attend Sir Robert Fossett’s Mammoth Jungle Circus at Louth (or elsewhere) and saw Ronus The Phantom Leaper in action, we’d love to be enlightened about his carleaping act! www.goldingyoung.com
