T he Austin-Healey 3000, Jaguar XJ- S and R129-generation Mercedes-Benz SL are among the cars most likely to land savvy classic buyers profits over the next 12 months, classic experts have told CCW.
Nick Whale, managing director of Classic Car Auctions, says that while he reckons that performance Fords like rear-drive Escorts will continue their current upward trajectory, there are plenty of currently underrated British classics that are finding favour. Cars from the 1990s, including the Volkswagen Corrado, are showing some of the strongest price rises.
He says: ‘Despite the general feeling of uncertainty triggered by the whole issue of Brexit, the general outlook for the classic car market remains positive on the whole.’
