James Martin’s French Adventure
Friday 10 Feb @3PM, ITV
Celebrity chef James Martin is a rare breed. He made his name in food, but has become as famous with car folk for his four-wheeled escapades as he is with lovers of fine cuisine. He once competed in the Mille Miglia in a 1956 Jaguar D-type long-nose and has raced a Mini at the Goodwood Revival. But in his latest programme, he’s taking it a bit more sedately with a Citroën 2CV. This tin snail once belonged to Martin’s idol and inspirational fellow chef Keith Floyd. In this series, Martin drives around France revisiting kitchens where he served his culinary apprenticeship during the 1980s. In this episode, Martin arrives in Burgundy where his visits a vineyard and makes some Dijon mustard. If you are as much a fan of cooking as you are motoring, then this will be right up your street (or rue).
