1989 MERCEDES-BENZ 190E 2.5-16

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

It may have spent years in the shadow of the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth, but the tide of interest has been turning towards its contemporary Mercedes rival. A dedicated following kept the 190E 2.5-16 and earlier 2.3-16 flame burning, but a recent interest upswing has seen values firming.

This car’s vendor (and third owner) bought it when it was three years old then had it restored in 2008 by a German specialist. Described as being a no-expense job, the car, which has a new engine, has covered 1000 miles since work was completed. The auctioneer advises that there are no service documents but there is SORN paperwork. Nevertheless, this a hugely tempting prospect.
