WHY I LOVE MY V8-250

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling - CHRIS SEABROOK

‘I’ve got a long history with these cars,’ says Chris. ‘I inherited a V8 in 1980 and spent eight years restoring it, but sadly it was stolen. So around 17 years ago I bought another, a 1967 V8-250. It had a bit of rust but it was basically sound. ‘First job was sorting rust at the rear of the front wings and the inner sills, both common problem areas, and I renovated the interior. Four years ago the appearance of lots of exhaust smoke meant the engine needed an overhaul, which included a rebore. The gearbox was overhauled at the same time.

‘I do about 3000 miles a year in it, including trips to Europe, and despite being a bit thirsty it’s a great touring car.’
