Giugiaro wins award
The man behind the Maserati Bora and Lotus Esprit has won the first ever Matita d’Oro award from the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Turin.
Giorgetto Giugiaro (below) was awarded the honour during an Oscar-esque ceremony in Turin. He won because of his enormous contribution to car development and his epic work ethic – he has designed more than 200 models.
The Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile is hosting an exhibition dedicated to his work, featuring cars such as the Volkswagen Golf MkI, Fiat Panda, and the Bertone concept Chevrolet Corvair Testudo.
The exhibition continues until March 12.
