Gi­u­giaro wins award

The man be­hind the Maserati Bora and Lo­tus Esprit has won the first ever Matita d’Oro award from the Museo Nazionale dell’Au­to­mo­bile in Turin.

Gior­getto Gi­u­giaro (be­low) was awarded the hon­our dur­ing an Os­car-es­que cer­e­mony in Turin. He won be­cause of his enor­mous con­tri­bu­tion to car de­vel­op­ment and his epic work ethic – he has de­signed more than 200 models.

The Museo Nazionale dell’Au­to­mo­bile is host­ing an ex­hi­bi­tion ded­i­cated to his work, fea­tur­ing cars such as the Volk­swa­gen Golf MkI, Fiat Panda, and the Ber­tone con­cept Chevro­let Cor­vair Tes­tudo.

The ex­hi­bi­tion con­tin­ues un­til March 12.
