Summer festival vibes
Lydden Hill Circuit celebrated 50 years of rallycross with two cars from its past, and one from its future.
Two fantastic RX (the correct acronym for rallycross in 2017) cars adorned its display area to help celebrate the milestone. First up was Pat Doran’s (the circuit’s owner) Ford RS2000. And what RX-themed selection would be complete without an MG Metro 6R4? However, the third car on the stand has never graced Lydden Hill’s Kent-based RX circuit. A Ford Capri piloted by Le Mans winner Jochen Mass was the final weapon on the stand.
Lydden Hill’s Louise Price explains: ‘We’re hosting a new classic festival on 12 August. It’s our first go at a festival type occasion and we’re really excited for it.
‘We’re working with the Classic Touring Car Racing Club and they kindly lent us that lovely Capri. There will be loads going on at the festival of course!’
