BMW CLASSIC & TYPE CLUBS
MURRAY SCULLION BMW is on (almost) foreign turf here, but the clubs and the company itself rallied together to put on a real tour de force. Porsche’s displays may have had expensive metal on show, but the Bavarian Beemers did the business for me. A huge amount of respect must go to BMW Classic, which teamed up with modelspecific owners’ clubs and put on one of the show’s finest displays. It fused traditional classics like the 2002 and E3 series with modern classics like the M5 using a refreshingly minimalist approach. Manufacturers in the UK could learn a lot from it.
