WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?

2003 MG ZR

THE STORY SO FAR Miles driven 8 Total mileage 78,022 What’s gone wrong It’s still looking a little off-colour Our MG’s morphed from a finely honed hot hatch to a sort of four-wheeled Shrek, and has been doing its best to hide its now grotesque face from view for the past week. The good news is that the replacement front bumper’s arrived bang on schedule – a snip at just £48, including free postage. Both have now been dispatched to a nearby garage for some plastic surgery. We’re looking forward to seeing the result. DS

2000 FORD PUMA

THE STORY SO FAR Miles driven 852 Total mileage 56,426 What’s gone wrong It’s now sentient and able to mend itself While the MG and S-class are in for repairs, the Puma’s been handling all office driving duties – and it’s performed impeccably in the process. Not only has it been transporting managing editor James Sadlier up and down the country to marathon runs, but it’s survived several show outings and trips to see rather older classics without missing a beat. It’s even managed to mend its ropey door locks on its own! DS
