1962 Bentley S2 Continental

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - BUYING & SELLING -

Edmundo Ros (real name Edmund Ross) was a London-based bandleader whose Coconut Club, based in London’s Regent Street, tapped into a craze for Latin American music. When he wasn’t running his venue or making music, he clearly had a sophisticated taste in cars, being the first owner of this James Youngbodied Bentley S2 Continental. By 1966 the car was with its fourth owner and it had shed its original ‘EWR 1’ registration number, but over the years it has been well maintained. Recent work includes an £18,500 bare-metal respray in 2008 and a retrim the following year, which cost £1750. A full service with a Bentley specialist last year cost £2866. This is a smart, imposing and rare car.
