Vauxhall classics safe
Vauxhall says it’s business as usual for its heritage activities – despite the manufacturer being snapped up by Peugeot owner PSA Group this week. The manufacturer maintains a fleet of classics and supports UK events, including the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show. PR manager Simon Hucknall says: ‘Nothing will change for the heritage department. The acquisition will not take part until the last quarter of this year. Peugeot Citroën is buying into the strength of these brands, and we’ve been assured it will retain the brand individualities. Consequently, nothing will change in the heritage centre, we will continue to represent at shows and will continue to add to our heritage fleet. It looks like in coming years, Peugeot and Citroëns will be added to our fleet.’ The €1.3 billion deal will create Europe’s second largest car maker, behind Volkswagen Group.
