cavs busy in Brum!
The Cavalier and Chevette Club will be working on three cars over the weekend of the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at the NEC, Birmingham, 31 March-2 April.
Alan Wells plans to complete the restoration of his Opel Manta Coupé, which competed in the 1991 Lombard Rally. He’s hoping CCW readers may be able to help him find more pictures and information about the car in the rally.
A Cavalier MkI 1.6 GL saloon bought new by its previous owner in 1978 will also be getting attention at the show. It’s totally original and is used every day by its current owner, Richard Watt.
The third car to be worked on under the NEC lights is Phil Scaife’s recently bought Cavalier Mk3 1.7 TD LS hatchback, fitted with the Isuzu turbodiesel engine. Also in daily use, this Cav is having its interior taken out so that better soundproofing can be installed.
