The ‘new’ yellowbird takes flight

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

Legendary Porsche tuner and restorer Ruf is reviving its most famous car, the Yellowbird.

Ruf is bringing back the smash hit from its back catalogue to celebrate the car’s 30th anniversary. The original Ruf CTR (to give it its proper name) was a twin-turbocharged and heavily-modified 911 built in 1987 and made famous by the Nordschleife on-board lm Faszination on the Nürburgring. The brand-new version was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7, featuring a bespoke chassis. Ruf promises a production run of 30 cars, with a price of around £650,000. Deliveries to customers are expected to begin in 2018.
