Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Fuzz Townshend’s Top Tips -

Tyres have a service life of roughly ten years. If they are older than this, bin them and buy a new set. I know that I keep harping on about tyres, but they are, after all, key to keeping your precious hide on this side of the turf. At least once a year I encounter a lovely old crock sporting tyres that date back to the days before I passed my driving test, which was Friday, November 20, 1981, if you must know. There are plenty of great, period reproduction tyres on the market nowadays, so there’s no longer any excuse or need to flop about on inappropriately fat rubber.

Consider this to be the flipside to your car’s free road tax.
