1960

John Sur­tees rid­ing an MV in 1960 – on his way to his fi­nal 350 and 500cc world cham­pi­onship.

1964

The Fer­rari 158 pow­ered Sur­tees to the F1 crown in 1964. He left the team just a cou­ple of years later.

1966

Driven by Sur­tees and Gur­ney, the Chevro­let-pow­ered Lola T70 won the first Can-Am Cham­pi­onship.

1972

Sur­tees takes the Euro­pean F2 ti­tle as a con­struc­tor. Mike Hail­wood drove the Sur­tees-Ford Cos­worth.

2009

John Sur­tees is awarded an OBE by HM the Queen at Buck­ing­ham Palace on Fe­bru­ary 18.

2009

John sets up Henry Sur­tees Foun­da­tion fol­low­ing the tragic death of his son dur­ing a rac­ing ac­ci­dent.
