With thanks to a storytelling master

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week - David Brown

‘ To say that it was a pleasure to meet John Surtees would be an understatement. On the first occasion, he was listening intently to the sound of his 1970 TS7 car outside the site of his former Team Surtees headquarters in Edenbridge, Kent. Minutes later he would be driving it in a cavalcade through the streets of the town, a feat he would repeat the following year in the Ferrari 158 that he’d driven to championship victory in 1964. He was always happy to chat and as he knew of my passion for BRMs, out flowed details of his dealings with team principal Louis Stanley in 1969. I’m just sorry now that I’ll never hear those great stories from him again.’
