Can you identify this mystery sports car?

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

Some fellow classic enthusiasts and I are trying to identify a vehicle and we wondered if Classic Car Weekly readers could help and perhaps provide details of the car’s subsequent history?

The enclosed photo shows the car with a friend, Barbra. Sadly she cannot help as she now suffers with dementia.

Several suggestions have been made, including a Berkeley, but this was dismissed due to the slopping bonnet.

A feature in your sister magazine Practical Classics recently showed a Peerless GT being restored by Gary Stretton, which appeared to be from the same period and with similar but not identical lines, and again, there are doubts that Barbra’s car was a convertible Peerless – unless it was a one-off special. If any reader can help solve this mystery once and for all, please write care of CCW.

That’s Barbra behind the wheel, but do you recognise the car?
