1937 Triumph Vitesse special

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

Bringing together a pre-war Triumph Vitesse chassis and running gear and a Duncan Drome aluminium body (as used on post-war Purchase Tax-dodging Healeys) surely makes the basis of those proper traditional British specials that were so popular in the 1950s, when this creation is first thought to have seen the light of day. Powered by a 1.7-litre engine used in the 14/60 Vitesse and Dolomite, it is once thought to have run a Ford Pilot V8 engine for hillclimbs. Brightwells’ unusual offering has been unused for 15 or so years and will require re-commissioning before going back on the road.
