WHY I LOVE MY MINI

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

Seven years ago Richard Bradley already owned a Mini Sprite, but it was getting rusty. Then, at a local classic car event he spotted this superb completely original example. ‘I asked the owner if he’d sell it to me and he said yes, as long as I kept it original,’ says Gloucestershire-based Richard. ‘It had covered 25,000 miles and it’s now done 37,000, but the sills and rear subframe are starting to corrode. I’m doing my best to keep the rust at bay with regular Waxoyling though. It’s used mainly for club events and drives out. Last year it went to Cornwall and this year it’ll go back there and to the Isle of Wight. These cars are enormous fun to drive and the Mini scene is excellent, in part because the cars appeal to younger enthusiasts.’
