In the name of Ferrari!

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

So, Ferrari doesn’t want anyone cashing in on their name, eh? ( CCW news story, 22 March). I wonder what the company thinks of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi?

I went to the emirate’s governmentowned Ferrari-theme park in January and paid nearly £100 for the pleasure.

I love old cars, mainly Jags and Astons, but was excited at the prospect of seeing some historic Ferraris. You can imagine how unimpressed I was to find out they only had two actual cars there – one they were trying to sell (a new one) and the

other was one you could be taken for a ride in (literally) at an additional cost.

The one in the sales blurb, a 250 GTO, was glassfibre-bodied, as were all the others. They also wrote: ‘At Galleria Ferrari you can get up close and personal with the ultimate display of vintage Ferraris.’ This was a wall with 2ft-high pictures of cars! David Fry, by email
