Buy your Drive-It Day plaques now!
Drive-It Day participants are being urged to buy their plaques, as the supplier DragonFly has announced the final order date. The cut-off for the plaque, which costs £8.52, is 18 April – five days before Drive-It Day takes place. The event is organised by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) as an homage to the 1000-Mile Trial of 1900 running from London to Edinburgh and back. Around 450 clubs will unite on the day, with at least 250,000 people taking part.
So far 2017’s event is set to include gatherings at Bicester Heritage, Gaydon, and Brooklands.
FBHVC’s national co-ordinator for Drive-It Day, Kenneth Coad, says: ‘The Federation will have a presence at Bicester Heritage but doesn’t know which clubs are participating or where, as there is nothing to stop individuals giving their pride and joy a run anywhere. Various car clubs are planning runs in their regions.’
Last year’s pick of the pictures was Edwin Jones’ run with the North West Gilbern Owners’ Club.
