1987 Ford Fiesta XR2
Ford’s junior performance hatch during the 1980s, the XR2 offered traditional blue oval levels of performance and road holding. Long standing ubiquity meant that values were low for years and used examples often led hard lives, with many irreparably damaged as they descended down the used car chain. Brightwells’ example clearly avoided that downward path, having covered just 42,000 miles from new and remaining in original factory specification – the auctioneer reckons that it even smells new. Temptingly estimated in this condition.
