THIS WEEK IN OUR FLEET...
DAVID SIMISTER EDITOR
1990 MAZDA Eunos Roadster The Bumblebee’s surprised everyone this week; not only did it pass its MoT, but it picked up no advisories whatsoever. But the jobs go on…
JAMES SADLIER MANAGING EDITOR
2000 MAZDA MX-5 NB Rear wheels are off so I can measure the diameter of the brake discs. Two sizes were available for this model so it’s important to find like-for-like!
MIKE LE CAPLAIN PRODUCTION EDITOR
1977 MG Midget 1500 Pressganged into another rush-hour commute – this one in thick fog – but the sunny, top-down drive home in the evening more than made up for it.
DAVID BROWN ASSOCIATE EDITOR
1982 VW Golf 1.6C After a frustrating year with this project, I’m hopeful that we will see real progress in 2017 and that it’ll be a runner again before long.
MURRAY SCULLION NEWS EDITOR
1996 MAZDA MX-5 Cambelt fixed. Now enjoying the brief bits of sunshine we’ve had. Slightly blowing exhaust is sounding good to me – is that wrong?
RICHARD GUNN SENIOR CONTRIBUTOR
1989 SAAB 900 Turbo T16 The troubled Swede has finally been unceremoniously dumped at a garage with instructions to just get it working again – whatever it takes.
NICK LARKIN EDITOR AT LARGE
1990 AUSTIN Maestro Just passed its MoT, so once again will be representing the Larkin fleet of classics this year while the 1960 Austin Cambridge awaits its new paint.
RICHARD BARNETT MARKETS EDITOR
2002 JAGUAR X-type 2.1 Had it for 12 years and it’s never let me down. The sills have been replaced to get through the MoT but mechanically it’s spot on. Just done 800 miles in two days, in fact!
