National Car Club Awards
All the winners named!
The classic world’s best events, club magazines and unsung heroes have been celebrated at an awards ceremony backed by CCW.
The MG Car Club, Rover Sports Register, Jensen Owners’ Club and TR Register were among the winners at the National Car Club Awards, held at the NEC last Saturday (1 April) during the course of the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show.
CCW editor David Simister joined Federation of British and Historic Vehicles chairman David Whale,
Practical Classics editor Danny Hopkins and Tourism Ireland’s David Boyce to judge more than 200 entries across the 16 categories, which included prizes for those supporting the next generation of classic fans. Highlights included the Sporting Bears Motor Club picking up the Judges’ Special Recognition Award, the Jensen Owners’ Club winning two prizes for its work marking the Interceptor’s 50th anniversary last year, and Rosie Hamilton picking up the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Wheeler Dealers presenter and awards host Mike Brewer praised the clubs for their continued work supporting Britain’s classic car movement, and for their stands at this year’s show.
He says: ‘Car clubs drive this passion and enthusiasm for an amazing hobby and the industry would be nothing without them.
‘It’s clubs, with their wealth of knowledge, that bring new people into this hobby.’
