1968 MGC Roadster

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

Many enthusiasts are prepared to take on a project, and cars that enjoy great spares back-up will always fare well. That was the case with this MGC Roadster, which is believed to have been Stage 3 tuned by renowned BMC tweaker Downton. It runs and drives but had been off the road for a long time, so the mechanical department warranted attention, as did the bodywork. The paint was clearly and unashamedly poor, there were signs of corrosion, and what the paint hid might have put some punters off. However, the floorpan described as ‘good’. Lifting the bonnet revealed a scruffy engine bay but at least the interior was surprisingly tidy – the seats are relatively recent replacements – but all-in-all, with ‘C values rising – plus the fact this was a Downton-modified car – it was an interesting buy for someone.
