Affordable luxury at Bicester
Buyers spoilt for choice in a sale where even rarities ducked below £100k
Brightwells’ off-site sale at Bicester Heritage mixed classic purchasing with the surroundings of the Oxfordshire classic motoring and aviation hub. With fewer than 70 lots this was a sensibly-sized sale with no lots hidden away as can often happen with mega-sales. Plenty of delights, including several pre-war motors added to the grandeur of the former WW2 RAF hanger that served as the sale’s headquarters, and the atmosphere was one of genuinely enthusiastic buyers rather than uncaring investors. All cars sold came in under the £100,000 mark and several were under £10,000, making this a well-balanced sale for those without trust fund-backed purchasing power.
Brightwells’ next Bicester sale is on 24 June, during the Flywheel Festival.
