WHY I LOVE MY 1100/1300

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling - IAN AND DAWN KENNEDY

Ian and Dawn have owned their Morris 1300 MkIII for three years, alongside a Morris 1100 MkI. Says Ian: ‘We’ve owned scores of them over the years – too many to remember. They’re perfectly capable of being used all year round. We’ve taken them from Land’s End to John o’Groats and over to France. They can keep up with modern traffic, offer good fuel economy, handling and all-round visibility plus they’re easy to park. What more could you want?’ If the name sounds familiar it’s because the Kennedys run Hydragas and Hydrolastic Service, which refurbishes the suspension displacers. Ian adds: ‘No provision was made to revive the displacers but we’ve worked out a solution that allows these cars to ride like new. What we do will hopefully keep these cars on the road for years to come.’
