Patrick Stewart OBE will race an Austin A35 at the Silverstone Classic on 29 July. The 76-year-old Star Trek – The Next Generation star has passed his racing test and is ready to compete in a special Celebrity Challenge Trophy Race.

Stewart says: ‘It will be a lot of fun. For someone who has followed motor racing since being a teenager, to drive around Silverstone and negotiate such corners as Becketts and Stowe will be a thrill.’

Other famous faces in the line-up include Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis and former Top Gear presenter Tiff Needell. All will be racing competition-prepared Austin A30 and A35s in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. The cars’ owners will qualify on the Friday and race on the Sunday, with the celebrities in action on the Saturday.
