Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Living With Classics - dan jones

If things go to plan for Dan Jones, his 2006 RX-8 will be the most powerful normally aspirated example of the breed anywhere in the UK. He says: ‘I’ve fitted an AEM induction kit, Racing Beat exhaust and manifold, opened up the ports massively plus there’s a lightweight flywheel – I’ve also incorporated a lot of the upgrades for reliability too, such as an uprated cooling system and a baffled sump. The car’s MazdaSpeed bodykit is extremely rare in the UK while the four-point strut brace is unique here; I imported it from the US. One thing that wasn’t worth doing was fitting a big brake kit; the standard system is so good that it’s hard to improve on it.’
