Puff passes muster
Two of the original members of an allfemale team that completed the Daily Mail London-Mexico World Cup Rally in 1970 have re-run the first stage.
Team Puff, comprising Bron Burrell, Tina Kerridge-Reynolds, new recruit Seren Whyte and the 1970 Austin Maxi, affectionately named Puff the Magic Wagon, completed the HERO LondonLisboa Classic Rally, covering 2000 miles around England, France, Spain and Portugal over the nine-day event.
They finished third in class and 39th overall – out of more than 80 starters.
Bron Burrell says: ‘Against all the odds, this little car with its incredible crew finally crossed the finish line In Portugal for the second time in 47 years. It was very emotional.’
