The clean lines of early Shadows were marred by the later Shadow II, but for anyone craving a firstgeneration model this Honey Gold, no-reserve offering made sense. The bodywork was highly presentable, as was the paint, which would have looked even better after a seriously good polish. The interior was pretty good, too, and in many ways far nicer than many other Shadows at auction, thanks to the exemplary seat facings, door panels and headlining, all of which were clean and free from wear. Coming with old MoT certificates and invoices, it was a genuine tempter.
