Lack of use can lead to sticking brake calipers, but the disc brakes should feel strong if maintained properly. Well maintained steering and suspension are rarely troublesome; check for excessive slack in the former, which points to a steering box in need of an overhaul, while perished pipework can allow air to enter the powersteering hydraulics. Watch out for perished suspension bushes and tired dampers. Rusty mountings are bad news, because things are almost certainly worse elsewhere if it’s reached this stage.
